We offer instrumental and vocal  music lessons to students of all ages, from beginners to more advanced.

The School has been operating for 8 years, and our reputation for offering quality lessons with some of the most experienced teachers on the Mornington Peninsula, keeps the demand for our lessons high. We are also one of the largest Music Schools in the area.

We are based in Somerville on the Mornington Peninsula, close to Frankston/Langwarrin/Baxter/Tyabb. There is ample parking right by the School.

We Offer Lessons in…

Guitar, Drums, Violin, Trumpet, Piano, Trombone, Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Keyboard and Vocal.

We encourage all children to get involved in music. For advice and information on when your child is ready to take music lessons please visit the Child Lesson Info link located on the left navigation.

We organise annual Music Recitals for our students, giving them the opportunity to play in front of an audience in a more formal setting. It is a real confidence boost and a fantastic experience for both the student and parents/ family.

Adult Lessons

We also offer adult lessons for mature students wishing to take up an instrument. It is never too late to learn how to sing or play a musical instrument.

Don’t have an Instrument?

That’s fine. Somerville School of Music has keyboards, pianos and drums in house. We also hire out student violins and guitars. Other instruments can be arranged through the school.

Due to our demand for our lessons you may be asked to go onto the waiting list if we cannot accommodate you straight away. However, be assured that the waiting list is closely monitored and vacancies do open regularly.

Open Hours

We are open every weeknight and on Saturday mornings.

Lessons run for 1/2 hour and lesson fees are the same for all instruments.  They are remarkably good value in these tough times!

 All music lessons are private, except for kids/teens guitar and keyboard lessons, which we are able to offer as either private or group lessons.  Some students prefer private lessons, although others prefer to work in a group of 2 or 3.
